Features
ikkatsup schedules finished short videos to multiple YouTube, TikTok and Instagram accounts. This page explains, for each platform, what ikkatsup does and what it does not do.
Reservations and confirmation
You reserve one video for connected accounts and choose the time to publish. You review what will be posted in the admin console. When you confirm, only the confirmed content is sent to each platform, and it is published at the time you chose. When content is sent depends on each platform’s method; each section below gives the timing.
Nothing is sent to any platform until you confirm.
Videos and text are registered in the admin console. In the admin console, use “New post” to upload a video, then enter the title, caption and hashtags, the time to publish, the accounts to post to, and the settings for each destination. What you enter is saved automatically as a draft until you confirm, and you can edit it on the post page at any time. The same admin console is where you review and confirm, check results, connect and disconnect accounts, and manage participants. You can also register and confirm with a dedicated command-line tool.
Posting to a short-video app
You can preview the video before it is posted to TikTok. When you confirm on the admin console’s post page, the person posting (the user of the TikTok account) chooses each of the following on screen.
- Visibility. Choose from the options that TikTok allows for that account.
- Whether comments, duets and stitches are allowed. Choose whether to allow each one.
- Commercial-content disclosure. Choose whether the post is commercial content, and of which kind.
Nothing is sent to TikTok until the reservation is confirmed.
After you confirm, ikkatsup sends the video to TikTok and posts it at the time you chose. The TikTok visibility, whether comments, duets and stitches are allowed, and the commercial-content disclosure cannot be entered from the command-line tool. Until the person posting has chosen them on the admin console’s post page and saved them, the reservation cannot be confirmed, including from the command-line tool. It can take a few minutes after the post completes before it appears on the TikTok profile. When you connect an account, ikkatsup reads the TikTok account’s identifier and display name and uses them to identify and show the connected account.
Posting to a video-sharing service
ikkatsup does only the following four things on YouTube. ikkatsup uses YouTube API Services (Google Privacy Policy, YouTube Terms of Service).
-
Uploading the videoFor a public reservation, ikkatsup starts uploading the video right after you confirm it. Until the time you chose, the uploaded video is kept private on YouTube, and ikkatsup sets it to be published at that time. For an unlisted or private reservation, ikkatsup uploads the video at the time you chose, with that visibility. Before that time, there is no video on YouTube.
-
Checking that it was publishedAfter the publish time, ikkatsup checks whether the uploaded video has the visibility you chose.
-
Deleting it when the reservation is canceledWhen a reservation is canceled, ikkatsup deletes the video it uploaded. An unlisted or private reservation has no video before the publish time, so there is nothing to delete if it is canceled before then.
-
Reading channel information when you connectWhen you connect an account, ikkatsup reads the channel’s identifier and name.
What ikkatsup does not do
- It does not display, download or search YouTube videos.
- It does not read comments or any information other than what the four actions above need.
Posting to a photo and video sharing app
ikkatsup posts the video and text you confirmed to Instagram as a Reel at the time you chose. Nothing is sent to Instagram until you confirm. Instagram has no scheduling of its own, so ikkatsup starts preparing the video just before the publish time and publishes at that time.
- Connecting. When you connect an account, ikkatsup reads the Instagram account’s identifier and display name.
- Posting. ikkatsup starts preparing the video for Instagram just before the publish time, and publishes at that time.
- Checking. ikkatsup checks whether the post was published and shows the result in the admin console.
Results
For every reservation you can see whether it was published, failed or canceled, and the reason when it failed. Results per account are also available.
Accounts and participants
- A workspace per organization. Each organization (tenant) has its own independent workspace and connects its own social accounts.
- Inviting participants. An organization’s administrator invites participants by email address.
- A connection can be removed at any time. When you remove a connection, ikkatsup revokes the authorization credentials at the connected platform (except for Instagram), deletes that account’s videos, post text, reservations, and posting results, and no longer posts to that account.
How data is handled is in the Privacy Policy. For questions, see Contact.
